I’m a Chelsea man so lately we’ve been very under par and that’s an understatement but Man Utd just keep getting worse specially under Erik 10 Hag he’s seems clueless but just keeps blaming officials when it doesn’t go his way he bought badly during the window the young lad upfront well I’ve seen better forwards getting splinters on the bench than him just a young lad but has very little skill then he bought Mason Mount was glad to see the back of him might have 5 or 6 good games a season but so overrated, they don’t play to a system it’s just hit and hope and hopefully pick up the second ball and as for the keeper well I’m going to say one of the worse buys of the millennium.
Very selective in the choice of stats and ignores the positive records ETH has broke but these stats/records, whatever you want to call them are team stats/records not individual records and it’s the team not ETH that is the problem.
ETH has not been backed by the owners and directors, he is still having to try and create a system to work with the players he has and many of which he doesn’t want because they aren’t good enough and don’t fit the system he wants to play. The balance of the squad is a mishmash of numerous previous managers each with their own system and players they brought in to play their system but are incompatible with the system he wants to play and incompatible with each other, the chemistry is not there and with all the injuries and issues that problem is only exacerbated.
The key to a good team is the foundation and spine of the team, the defence and central midfielder and striker. Our keeper is new and needs time time settle in and normally that would not be an issue if there is a consistent defence but we don’t have that, our foundation (the defence) has been obliterated with constant injuries and the backup being very average and consistently changing from game to game, that is the main issue, without a solid foundation we are nothing and with the system ETH wants to play, that makes it impossible because those players are not up to the job and that instantly puts a spanner in the works.
Then you look at the defensive side of midfield, without a consistent defence behind them, they are having to pick up the slack and are having to do more work in positions that should be being handled by the defence and so that then means they aren’t being efficient in the job they are needed to play and so their game suffers as a result and the attack, well we just have Højlund and he is young and he is a bright spark in the team but due to the failure of the rest of the team, he isn’t getting any service, every game is like a graveyard shift for him, they just aren’t providing him with any service at all.
We got players which the board overpaid massively for, that’s not ETH’s fault, he tells the board players he wants and it’s their job to get those players and they have been completely incompetent and it’s resulted in massively overpaying for players and over paying the players in wages and this has been an issue for at least a decade and players that should be out the door are almost impossible to get rid of because of the wages they are on.
We have missed out on players because the budget has been blown on over paying for players and so missing out on players that would have improved the squad.
ETH needs time, sacking him would be a massive mistake. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, the next manager will have the same issues and the one after that.
The whole entire club needs rebuilding, it’s been neglected for decades and it’s not going to be fixed overnight, the same issues will be there whether ETH is manager or not.
We need to fix the underlying issues and stop treating the symptoms and thinking that is going to make everything better again.
ETH needs to be backed, he needs directors above him who back him and are competent and then they need to clear out the deadwood and cancer and get in players that are going to do the job, going to work hard, put in the effort all whilst not demanding ridiculous wages, put incentives into their wage contract based on performance criteria, we need a team of players like Lisandro Martinez and Rasmus Højlund, players with the right attitude and the talent to go with it and not players like Sancho or English players in general who have this entitlement and corporate social media/image hangeron’ers who get smoke blown up their arses and are spoilt and overpaid prima donnas who are convinced they are a lot better than they are, a sad reflection of the current youth culture of today in the UK.
There are so many issues at the club and most of them are far higher up the list than ETH, ETH is not the problem and it’s disingenuous to put it all on him
