  1. people say iniesta should have won the balladnor in 2010 as he won the worldcup like Messi in 2023 but iniesta only scored 2 goals in the worldcup even though he was a winger in the worldcup .In 2022 worldcup messi won golden ball, 7 goals and a motm in every stage of the worldcup

  2. First of all: FIFA has nothing to do with the Ballon d'or, France Football is the host of the trophy.

Second: Iniesta missed most of the year injured, Xavi and Sneijder were better contenders, plus Messi's performance was extraordinary by 2010 standards.

Third: Neymar had a great year in 2015 but he wasn't the best in the team.

Forth: the trophies that you showed Lewandowski winning were in 2020 not 2021 and they were not part of the equation. (they should've given to him the Ballon d'or in 2020 and not cancel it though)

And Fifth: if Haaland wasn't almost nonexistent at the big matches, he would've won it since big matches performances is a criteria in the voting.

And that's all, you just need to get this "robbery" idea out of your head and understand how the voting works and then compare objectively and you will see that Messi earned his Ballon d'ors.

But on the other hand there were some instances were the trophy should've gone to a different person, 2001,2003, 2004 and 2013 are good examples.
