  1. We’re absolutely atrocious right now.
An important step has been made: kicking Mislintat out. He made a boatload of unnecessary, mostly unknown and unapproved signings and he did so for his personal gain. Despicable. I don’t really see Ajax spirit in most of those players. One of the main things I’d want it to stop signing many players, especially for high fees. The club has also let go of certain players really easily, like Mazraoui, Tagliafico and Blind. Blind’s new club, Girona, is definitely on a high, to say the least. Go back to giving the youth a proper chance. Barcelona made a similar pitfall and they haven’t gotten better because of it. So many rejected youth talent have chosen other clubs and thrive there. Most notably Botman. But Doekhi and Schuurs are significant too. In the recent Twente match, Ajax youth talent Ünüvar put the nail in the coffin, scoring the 3-1 for Twente. If I were a young prospect, I’d probably look elsewhere, as Ajax try (and often fail) to replace departed players by signing players elsewhere. Alkmaar would be the place for me to be, honestly, given how they thumped the competition in the recent youth league.
Ever since Overmars and Ten Hag have gone it’s all gone downhill. I can still remember how good Ajax looked in the first half of that season. They only scrappily clenched the eredivisie title that season and it’s the club’s last trophy to date. I don’t condone any of Overmars’ actions, but he was undeniably a very important individual when it came to running the club. And his new club, Antwerp, have recently won the Belgian league.

  2. Feyenoord always has been the greatest club in The Netherlands, but because of financial struggles they couldn't reach Ajax. Now they can because of good policy. Within Ajax it's not the fault of Mislintat…It was already going bad before he came.

  3. What needs to happen?! You seriously asking this obvious question?

They need to change their business model, from a club that makes money by buying cheap players just to sell them with a higher value, to a club that actually buys and keep good players to win trophies with them.

You cannot expect to win trophies while you forbid your manager from getting players that are a little bit not too young, and learn how to reject lucrative offers (look at la liga clubs having a billion release clause)

  4. Forgot to mention

Flares actually caused the game to be postponed, wirh Ajax ultras breaking glass and breaking in their own stadium. Dutch militairy was needed to get them away from the stadium. On wednesday the game was resumed, resulting in 0-4 for Feyenoord.
