  1. Maradona is the best. He won a World Cup, won European cup with a lack luster team around him at Napoli, Won 2X league titles when AC Milan & Juventus had all the talent. For Messi to even come close he would have to win a World Cup and win a CL with a team like Leicester.

  2. Messi is great , but u lack the whole picture , u know how many legend chose the phenomeno ? It's stagerring the lack of understanding the football game , legends r saying phenomeno , gays and shemales r saying cristina , all new generation r saying messi , then what about the killer of zidane ? Did anybody kill it in all competitions like he did ? Messi must win the world cup , phenomeno scored 8 made 3 or 4 , finished semi and final like good morning , zidane killed brazil twice , what have u done , messi ?

  3. Messi is the greatest…. he dont have to win a wc….. alreast not for me… have you ever seen a game whereby messi isn't effective….. even if he didn't score or assist which is rare asf…. he always affects the game … hes legendary in scoring creating passing dribbling vision… hes unreal and never again will be replicated….

  4. I hate to say it but Messi, as good as he is was absolutely massacred in European competition the last six years at Barcelona and since he arrived in PSG. To be the greatest you have to won, not be a part of a team that gets slaughtered year after year with Messi on the pitch. There is a massive propaganda machine around Messi and it results in people blindly saying things like he is the GOAT. Michael Jordan never lost a finals series, for example. Messi's Barcelona was repeatedly humiliated year after year in the elit competitions. I'm sorry but a GOAT does not do that.

  5. To say that the 2014 Argentina team was mediocre.m, says how much this guy understands about football. Wasn’t the best Argentine squad that I’ve ever seen, but mediocre? Mascherano, Di Maria, Agüero, Lavezzi, de Michelis, Enzo Perez.. aren’t crappy players..

  6. GOAT logic is flawed. Because the player in question, can only play & compete against a small sample size of great plays from his era & not historical great players.
    Messi never played or competed against Pelé, Cruyff, Maradona, for instance.
    And likewise those players against him.

  7. The Most Successfull period in the history of Argentina, 1977-1993
    And during that period Argentina played
    -> 3 World Cup Finals, and won 2 World Cups
    -> Won 2 Copa Americas
    -> Won Confederations Cups (their only Confederations Cup)
    -> Won 3 Club World Cup Titles and played 4 Club World Cup Finals
    -> Won 5 Copa Libertadores Titles
    -> Won Finalissima
    Maradona's career was running parallel to this time period (1977-1997), but the intresting fact is that out of all these Argentinian Glory, Maradona was only part of the 1986 World Cup winning Squad, he was not part of any other glories during that time period.
    But if you check Pele's time, he played the pivotal role in winning 3 World Cups for Brazil, 3 Club World Cups for Santos and 2 Copa Libertadores for Santos.If you check Brazil and Santos, Pele was the only common factor in both teams.
