You can't just toss this to CB's fault when midfield allowed them to play quick. I get the hype about the new midfielders but it was THEIR fault to allow balls through like this. It's a preseason so they should be trained and instructed to interrupt counterattacks or at least delay it as much as they can so defense can handle the turn over. It's not a coincidence Liverpool's defense declined when Henderson and Fabinho's pace and tensity got slower as they aged. Just compare 22/23 season games to 18/19 season games. It is night and day how much they cover when opponent starts the counterattack and how quick they responded
I'm gonna say it for the 100th time. I'd like to see Nat Phillips step up as that right sided centre back role. He's just a proper defender and gives his all.
